With every successful year in the wold of Hip Hop follows the now prestigious awards to honour hard work delivered by artists, brands, promoters, producers, radio DJs, etc. and these are The South African Hip Hop Awards.
Established in 2012 by a small group of individuals passionate about the progressive Hip Hop Movement, the first ever awards took place without any prominent sponsors but due to unity in the industry and the thirst for recognition, they were a success.
The awards have produced countless winners of the 4 year period of their existence, with names like AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Spacemunna, the late Senyaka, Big Bux, Gigi Lamyne, Ms Cosmo, Ganja Beats, SA Miller, etc. being part of that list on the first year. This year marks the 5th successive year of the SAHHAs and judging by the nominees' list, it is going to be on fire come 14th December 2016 at Goldreef City.
We at CircleIn/05CircleIn, have decided to focus on the King Of Free State nominee list which features 3 names of individuals deemed to be Kings in their own right, with only one to be crowned as the front-runner in the development and progress of the Hip Hop Movement in the Free State province.
